Neuregulins Response to Exercise: a Mini Review
The Neuregulin is a member of the epidermal growth factors (EGF) family of receptor kinases, was originally identified as the product of the transforming gene derived from chemically induced rat neuroblastoms. A variety of different protein isoforms are produced from single Neuregulin gene. Four distinct vertebrate gene encode Neuregulin, prosaically named NRG1, NRG2, NRG3, and NRG4. Most of bi...
متن کاملExercise-Induced Hypoxaemia Developed at Sea-Level Influences Responses to Exercise at Moderate Altitude
PURPOSE The aim of this study was to investigate the impact of exercise-induced hypoxaemia (EIH) developed at sea-level on exercise responses at moderate acute altitude. METHODS Twenty three subjects divided in three groups of individuals: highly trained with EIH (n = 7); highly trained without EIH (n = 8) and untrained participants (n = 8) performed two maximal incremental tests at sea-level...
متن کاملModelling of Human Cardiovascular Response to Moderate Exercise
This paper investigates the steady state relationships between key central cardiovascular variables (i.e. stroke volume, heart rate, total peripheral resistance and cardiac output) and oxygen uptake rate (V̇ O2) during moderate incremental exercise. Ten untrained normal males exercised in an upright position on an electronically braked cycle ergometer with constant workloads ranging from 25 Watt...
متن کاملPre- and post-adolescents' physiological response to exercise.
The physiological performance of a group of boys and girls aged eleven to twelve years was examined and nineteen of these children were retested again at aged sixteen years. The findings of this investigation support the findings of other similar studies that, when VO2 max is used as a determinant of cardiovascular performance, the performance of children increases with age, and in boys particu...
متن کاملRhabdomyolysis following moderate exercise.
Raised levels of serum muscle enzyme activity are frequently seen following unaccustomed or prolonged strenuous exercise. Following particularly severe exercise, muscle enzyme levels can be extremely high and are occasionally associated with rhabdomyolysis. A case of rhabdomyolysis following a moderate degree of accustomed exercise in a fit young soldier is reported and discussed.
